Khanh & my Sol is all but done. Hoping my friend, brother, will let me be a good friend for the joy of it, for a couple of weeks and then heading west.


This was a miraculous vehicle that Khanh created six months ago. Miraculous upon arriving back here in Charlotte a month ago. But it is now beyond that. It was a nine months of the year solar vehicle not twelve, and now probably 11 or 12, even the short winter months for 30 or 50 miles a day of travel and cooking totally Off the Grid. Twice that the longer months.



 

It was an ergonomic catastrophe, a torture rack, really a fundamental design flaw for anyone serious about cycling aside from the one in a hundred that might perfectly fit the almost completely non-adjustable standard seat arrangement. That's behind us freeing possibly 3 4 5 hours a day of distraction on the part of James trying to figure out in that particular day how to enable his body to move this 800 lb object without totally destroying all his soft tissue. That's behind us. Truly an extraordinary leap. And so many other things I expect to detail in the next couple of days.

For a series of reasons including that Khanh has now freed up hours in every day that I'm traveling from the interesting nightmare of trying to work out the daily ergonomics.

What time I have had Beyond basic ergonomics in the last 6 months has been devoted centrally to more deeply understanding and incorporating the 300 versus that we have from the man Jesus that he probably spoke and lived. I never would have guessed earlier in my life that this is what I would want to devote myself to, but indeed it is. You are aptly named someone said recently, and another person said much the same, James, the brother of Jesus. It feels that way. The Deep Joy, and the sad responsibility.






And I expect that to continue, but I also have an inkling of what I will be studying in the hours per day that Khanh has freed up where I can have articles and books read to me.

What I think is most needed of me is to help make it easy for others to do good in the world for the Supreme, penultimate, Joy of it, the superior Joy of it. And as I have known and said for decades the reason that's hard, it is our basic nature, the reason it's hard, is because we're dying for examples in this near perfectly evil culture that we create and bask in. 

And this is why three years ago after realizing that there's no hope to avert Ecocide for the human and all species, I found myself creating this website, Lsgiabeing.com. At that time my sense was, James, you need to do the best you can to channel good Souls into the world, for the one in a million that might be helped by that, some poor soul way Downstream. 



But now I realize, you need to do it, James, for it to be easier for you to attempt good in the world, for the sheer Joy of attempting, even with the gop Nazi goon takeover and resultant hell that will happen in 2024.

And I expect, I might be wrong, I expect, that I'm now called to use my time while traveling returning to that joyful task with eyes more open, studying the great Souls at that site. With my understanding deeper. The huge insight being that doing good for the sake of doing good, ATTEMPTING GOOD, every breath, is the ultimate Joy regardless of the horrible material consequences that it may bring, or threatens to bring. I didn't have that clarity then, I do now.

Miraculously, this miraculous vehicle has no lethal weaknesses, except maybe one, or two.

  If there is one it is that in cold weather even with this lifepo4 battery does not heat enough during the day to stay above freezing by morning and we're Outdoors all the time. This is the biggest concern. There are heating pads from Walmart, there are oil pan heating pads and maybe the solution is as simple as cutting away the insulation on the sides of the battery, applying the heating pad then re applying the external installation, securing the wiring, and using it then sometimes in the winter time as needed. That it may be this thin enough that it won't interfere with the cranks. 



If there is a second vulnerability it may be that the geometry of the otherwise game-changing rear trike wheel hub motor yields too much leverage on the internal bearing that it fails as it seems to have done. In two days it is hoped that back up bearings are secured. It is not known for certain that they will fit. It is not known for certain that they are the reason that there is now a wobbling play in the rear axle tho very slight and it may be that James will hold off on finalizing the diagnosis by opening the motor until he arrives at a place where it has labeled back up if that's still available. Or maybe he will dig right in. We'll see. If it turns out that the proper size replacement bearings can be secured then if it is necessary to replace the bearings every 3000 miles or so that's fine. If not, James needs to come up with a different Hub Arrangement, maybe the dd45 with proper adjustments, but never failed before.

Sol r Turned 3000 today. Approaching forty thousand in total.



 The first Sol was a prototype, this is a production vehicle, just solid solid solid solid solid. A Marvel everyday. Physically beautiful and complete now. It is a thing, credit to Rex, and then Khan. It is a joy and a privilege for me to Showcase it around the country. So strong that a rear-end Collision was healed in a matter of a day. Hopefully we don't get to find out what happens after the next rear end collision. 

The solar panel on the roof has broken I'm certain because it is insufficiently supported so horrible Road conditions in the US caused internal fracture. Within a week or so I expect a replacement to be placed on top, the much more durable SunPower and I expect that to last for many years and also those on the trailer. 

Khanh's most ingenious move that almost killed me was realizing that a pedicab transaxle in the trailer would be a game-changer and indeed it has. Countless nights now James has been in a safe secluded sleeping spots in Forests that would have been unattainable with the prior vehicle. The transaxle and the Cyclone motor in the trailer. 

With the Cyclone motor in the cab we can now endlessly do the Rockies and the Sierras. But fires are preventing accessing those this year. In about two weeks we'll be in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire and Maine. Very challenging but less so than out west. Easily handled by turning on the cab Cyclone but it is very noisy. We probably could handle those states with the rear trike Hub motor but it overheats so quickly. This is sort of the last remaining fundamental experiment. With the current controller Arrangement The Hub motor just gets too much power and overheats in a matter of several moments. 

James's looking to prioritize experiments in the next couple of days to see if different controller Arrangements can better distribute power across the trailer and the cab, and hopefully so. If not, it might be time to try and secure a hub motor to be mounted mid vehicle in the cab as it was before with appropriate torque arms.

Khanh's Sol is a Marvel.

 Solid as a rock after 2500 miles, including the legendarily horrible Michigan Roads. And even a rear-end collision several days ago. Mercifully it was near Rex in Lansing who was home briefly, and so graciously and with such expertise he  effectef the repairs. But the basic structure held firm. We're rolling again. Michigan roads destroyed the solar panel on the roof , that needs to be replaced. Heat it seems is destroying the panel productivity on the trailer down maybe 30%. It may be that a controller needs to be replaced, a solar controller, tho that's not yet certain. Creator willing will re-enter Ohio tomorrow. Heading toward the coast of Maine.

Just under 30 Watts electric per miles seems to be our maximum efficiency, 50 watts per mile total. Wonderful.

 If I Target eight or eight and a half miles an hour when I'm peddling as opposed to coasting downhill, that seems to be the Sweet Spot, slower than that seems to get into motor efficiency issues, faster apparently wind drag starts becoming significant. And eight or eight and a half miles an hour works perfectly well for me. That's about 40 miles per day, recently half of the electricity or no more than two-thirds that the sun is giving me, and about as long as my but can stand, and about three or four thousand calories per day beyond base metabolism which is an additional 1500 calories per day. This is absolutely the most wonderful machine that Khanh created, and Rex inspired. It is such an ethical way for James to exist, such an incredibly light footprint on the children's future, and it is very powerful at stirring the occasional soul. Below is a rough estimate of how the next 30 days will be spent.

1. All 4 cylinders engaged, back primary. No feet! Cylinders are full back digging, and lectures two inches above and 2 in into the thighs.

A marathon, I run the calorie equivalent of 1 1/2 every day, the joy and that is what?

 Four years my mission has caused me to try and learn how to move myself and a heavy object 40 miles a day everyday. And dutifully I've stayed at the task. Many times I have thought I had learned a lot, and every time I was correct, but that's different than saying I was at the Pinnacle. I Experience being at the Pinnacle now, or very close there to. Logs of the last days speak of this.

NNo question I have been growing tremendously in my cycling ability, and the suffering to do so has been enormous. So what?

SSoul and I are doing about 40 miles a day, in Fairly good solar conditions but the wind is beginning to get a bit adverse. A routine right now is to try and hit Krogers between 11 and 8 in the evening then they have their $5 meals and the ladies that serve them tend to be extremely generous. Chicken sadly, and potatoes and corn. In much better solar conditions this wouldn't be necessary, Crock-Pot would be sufficient, but energy for cooking is a little on the scare side.

II think what I'm doing is absolutely crazy, crawling across the country at 40 miles a day, killing myself, it just seems more sane than anything else I can think to do, sharing about eight pieces of the scripture that the man Jesus probably actually said, about how to find joy in this life. Which works for me.

And with each of the 7 or so versus on this vehicle I'm making it a practice to meditate on one per day and it's been a week of that practice so far. Today I was back to work on the front. And my meditation as I cycled made me think, James, you care if you survive until tomorrow? Do you care if your mugged? I noticed, James, you were really irritated at the Hostile driver just now, is that worshiping wealth, or loving God? I'm finding it very helpful and very cleansing.

Sadly rather than accessing a parameter change in the cycle analyst James inadvertently wiped out the log for today late in the journey. Oh well.









Cycling, if I had understood these few things oh, how different the last four years may have been.

 No regrets, not complaining, but really amazing.

Item. The energy transfer chamber is about 3 in out from the perineum and up about 20 or 25 degrees. In a conventional bicycle the energy transfer chamber is out the same distance and down about 15 or 20 degrees.

Item. The ball joints where the femur attached in the pelvis are to remain neutral and in no way to be torqued.

Item. Within that chamber  the purest energy defies imagination but it is very real, 270 w up to 320 frequently being seen and each time James is amazed at how little effort seems to be exerted not to suggest that it's easy.

Item. Although not as Central in mind today unquestionably all of this was set up by realizing that there are multiple motors and the most important Motors are in the abdomen and upside of the pie at the crease with the Torso, and the lower back.

Item. Achieving that chamber is not easy, it is less felt than found by visualizing it and actually slightly looking into the area and when it is found it is higher, closer to the belly, more crowded than James would have guessed but extremely comfortable when found. Having said that the abdominals are what lift it into that area when they understand things properly and certainly there's exertion there but it's very sustainable.

Item. Within the chamber it is not a circular action although the body would like that, it is the passing zone of the conventional cyclist, three and a half inch out from the perineum.

Item. That any energy felt on the pedals, the feet should float in the area of the pedals and the rest of the lower leg accordingly, any energy or placement or pressing there can be considered cheating, attempting to rest rather than really to help. Impure energy as opposed to Pure. This was very helpful when it emerged today.

Item. Maintaining body alignment with the vehicle as described several days ago rather than twisting and turning the body as it wants to do on banked roads and pointing into two turns. No, the chamber is square ahead and up in the nose of Sol and maintaining this is very very helpful and relaxing.

Item. And the Chamber located and used properly the precise pass themselves perpendicularly whereas the more normal lazy position they slide past each other not as perpendicular, and when the perpendicular Place, higher and closer than expected, toward the belly, when it's found, it's unbelievable how much easier things are and smooth.

Update in case forgotten about. Coming to terms, finding where equilibrium is is instrumentally helpful and encouraging because it is the alternative to flailing around and assuming that I can't do enough.

Item. Update. Imagining that there is a rod coming up from the perineum at about 65 or 70 degrees upright and that the passing zone is centrally informed by that rod and the thighs particularly within 2 in of the perineum are to have that is their passing zone.

Update. Item. And now the most elegant solution of all times? Some sort of serpentine belt about an inch and a half out from each guy and the mission is to find an equilibrium between the saw and its controls, and those thighs, that is a happy meeting point and to adjust as necessary for happy sustainability on James Park. Never an instance where the energy on that bill is allowed to decrease or substantially increased. Extremely sustainable, a natural outgrowth of everything above. Output in the neighborhood of 250 up to 290 W human observed.

Update. Item. There was a and is a really helpful notion of holding back happy equilibrium with Paul.

Update. Items. Incredibly helpful this last half hour or longer period particular emphasis on neutrality come on no twerking comma where the bones and surgery in the lower back and doing so circularities is eliminated and see passing of the thighs perpendicular to one or another in a a small face as in conventional upright cycling is the only option at the body is seeing This coupled with constantly checking in to be sure that it is a happy point of equilibrium from salt to James body That is extremely sustainable and The metric scene are not outrageously high but they're more than high enough Typically 220 or higher with the current reading being 236.

Crucial update. Item. Make sure you have your back into it came. Today that means leaning back into it and feeling it there. Tremendously helpful when it is, crippling when it isn't. Very easy to overlook. Probably have been the last couple of days.

Call Sheila crucial. Item. An ocean of sitting down deeply in the very small belt is that was discussed yesterday. And today Kiki really helpful when Lee focused in back oh attachments if you will is quite high at least halfway up and maybe a little bit higher. Seems to help from sliding down in the seat. Also has a substantial calming effect on the rest of the body automatically. Much less flailing going on it seems.

Item. And today stay integration is to have the first 2 inches of the thighs pass each other in such a way that the abdomen and mid-back AR participating well and constantly.

Item. And the unifying problem to be solved, the solution, 2 operate the first 3 in of the buttocks and thigh such that the upper back and upper abdomen are constantly engaged, alternate Lee, as would be the back in finishing a Sprint, or the abdomen in doing sit-ups or crunches. This is the system. And engaged is such that they maintain equilibrium at the mid-range and sometimes slightly higher, such that the relationship was solved is sustainable over 5 hours or more.

These shoes look previously owned, does that affect the price, James asked? Reese said, try them on and see if they fit first....



 At least eight times if not a dozen James has checked Amazon where previously he has succeeded in purchasing clipless cycling shoes. But along with all other  bike parts the flood of cycling purchases with the beginning of covid has emptied the pipeline and just nothing suitable is available.

James has been able to keep cycling because of some wonderful bike shops but they're not all great, some of them are really snooty, enough, that James finds it distasteful and he tries to avoid them.



pedaling for many hours every day he has wanted to replace the cycling shoes that burned up with the rest of Sol. 

In this town here in Tennessee he would not have guessed it was a cycling Mecca but he noticed a bike shop on the right hand side and chose to stop in.

A cheerful young man emerged from the back, and listened carefully as James explained he was looking for an affordable pair of clipless shoes that he could wear all day long.

Within moments Reese had me trying on $100 pair which James knows is a very affordable price point. But Reese said, I'm going to go in the back and see what else we have. 

The ones I was trying on were very acceptable but they lacked the tread for all-purpose shoes but they were fine.

Though they were a little bit narrow, though the socks I was wearing were a bit thick because it was cold up in the mountains two days ago.

Try these on if you like, Reese said. Only with casual interest, because they looked like great shoes, James said, they look previously used does that affect the price? He was eagerly trying them on as he asked. See if they fit and then we'll discuss it.

Among the followers of Jesus they said, if you would follow what Jesus said it's going to cost you everything material in life, everything. But it will give you a hundredfold in this life, and I'm certain what they meant was, the few lives Souls will be found much more frequently. What a joy.

The disastrous $3,100 bill 4 $10 in purchases at Lowe's in York South Carolina.

 

Several months ago James purchased two small plastic storage boxes for the dashboard of Sol. He pushed the cart to the remote spot where Sol was parked, took the first storage box out, placed it Sol, turned around for the second and there was no cart. After several moments he spied the cart, Down The Long smooth parking lot in the side of a shiny big expensive red pickup truck. James waited for the owners, when after quite a while they did not come out of the store he had them paged in the store. When that didn't work he left his name and phone number on the windshield which apparently two out of three people don't do, they just leave the scene. The alleged amount of the repair is obscene, as it is to own such an expensive pickup truck. But there it is. The first $1,000 of the payment has just been made, although James paid $500 to cover the out-of-pocket cost of the owners at the time of the incident. So by the time it's done $3,700. I don't think it will sink us, but it brings is pretty close.
