A story to tell on myself. Several weeks ago traveling in the vehicle all day, hot day, stopped at a convenience store gas station for a cold drink refill. As frequently happens, getting out of the vehicle, I noticed people eyeing the vehicle and me and could feel a idle headed question coming my way and looked away and scowled internally. Scowled particularly because the individuals were substantially overweight against which I have a lifelong prejudice bias I am not proud of. I remember thinking, and I am not proud of this, if you are not interested in taking care of yourself I'm not interested in talking to you about the vehicle. They did not make any inquiries. In the store I filled the refill, went to the counter, put in my credit card, may have smiled and said something nice to the young handsome Indian attendant, withdrew my card, began to walk away and the attendant looked at me with daggers and said you didn't pay! I use this card all the time with no problems. My guess is I must have absent-mindedly pulled it out too soon. I'll pay, the lady said! Yes, it was one of the individuals I just spoke of, a woman in the group roughly late 40s. Thank you so much ma'am, I said, but I'll pay, I must have pulled the card out too quickly. No, she insisted, adamant, I want to pay. She also had made a judgement based on the vehicle in my attire. She can be maybe proud of hers, and I am very ashamed of mine.
