Working in the background for me for more than a dozen years, well, really for more than 30 years since my first bio-kid arrived, but in a new way since I placed myself as a counselor 12 years ago in one of the largest, neediest elementary schools in the country: What do I want for these kids? What do I want to for every kid?
The first time I had a clear answer I felt was getting really close, was this morning as I hiked to my 'office' (coffee shop) from my granite mattress at the Obama's.
What I want for every kid is to Never be ripped from Our Father's Kingdom, the Heart within, and the place of God (Good) within which is in the same realm, but even higher. If I had the strength, and wisdom, this would be my Overriding goal as a parent - #1. The abortion that calls itself 'church' should be exactly for this goal, and instead it is the #1 enabler of forced removal of our kids from the Kingdom into the Hell of capitalistic c'ristianity.
All this to your point below of what we do to the materially rich, as well as to the poor in this country. Victims all. Affloholics all.
Curing affloholism, being the antidote, being the cure to affloholism on a mass scale, the only hope - becoming / building what Jesus would recognize as a church (NOT 'christian') the only potential cure, by whatever name.
The blindness we spoke of yesterday - affloholism, exactly the blindness, delusion, DENIAL of the alcoholic, only triggered differently.
