Well, some day I hope to have the time to complete this post. For now, this entire site, particularly the posts above will have to suffice. But in addition, or for emphasis:
* We have two basic ways of "living" out our lives, two mutually exclusive choices of paradigm: The world is Enemy, or the world is Family.
* SELFISHNESS is the being of the life lived among "enemies." Do unto others before they do unto you.
* OTHERISHNESS / BROTHERLY LOVE is the life lived among "world as family."
There are two chemical coctails of a positive nature that can wash our nuerons - Pleasere and Joy.
PLEASURE IS ELLICITED WHEN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IS INVOLVED IN SELFISHNESS.
JOY IS THE COCTAIL THAT BATHES THE NEURONS WHEN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IS HEROICALLY SERVING THE "OTHER."
HOW MUCH MONEY / SELFISH PLEASURE WOULD IT TAKE TO CAUSE A HEALTHY MOTHER TO SELL HERE CHILD - THE ONE THAT CRIES, POOPLS, SCREAMS, DEMANDS.... THE ONE THAT SHE DEVOTES HER LIFE TO SERVING?
JOY ALWAYS TRUMPS PLEASURE. HOWEVER, WE HAVE BECOME SLAVE TO A CULTURE THAT HAS REMOVED, OR PUNISHES VIRTUALLY ALL OPPORTUNITUES FOR OTHERISHNESS / HEROIC NONVIOLENT SERIVCE.
