UNVIOLENTLY WAGING LOVING is the other way - WITH YOUR ENTIRE BEING CONSTRUCTING a better reality... as a desperate medical team might fighting for the life of a child - Frenetic, TOTAL EFFORT, of CONSTRUCTION, CREATION.... NOT DESTRUCTION. Agents of Peace, of a better world MUST step up to face this. 99% of the otherwise best hopes for Peace wind up hiding behind such notions as 'peace is the way.' Peace IS the way of Death... coffin. WAGING A WAR OF LOVING by whatever words, or no words at all, is what describes the work of True Unviolent Activists bringing about Peace... throughout history. I was on my every morning, 6 days per week, self appointed campaign to pick up every condom, shard of glass, candy wrapper... that covered the 12 acre campus of the blighted, 95% poverty, 1200 student Columbus Elementary in Chester PA yr 2000... before any students or staff arrived each morning.  Spotless was what I wanted for them. Probably the best application of my masters degrees in Business and Psychology I've ever applied.  Almost killed me, literally.  Often by mid afternoon I was literally paralyzed with exhaustion. "I get it now," said a voice. It was Mr. Jackson, school custodian. I barely knew him, I was new to the school. "Oh. You get what," I asked. "You are at war; you are at war for these kid's lives," he said. I'd never thought of it that way. I didn't really understand why I was killing myself in this way. My heart, my Soul, just said "DO IT," so I did. But he was right. I was at all out, total, pay any personal price war for the kids in that school, otherwise bound for early prison and death. I've been at war for humanity my entire adulthood but only when Mr. Jackson put those words to it did I understand.

nd. Speaking out for Palestine is probably the most politically, and even physically, dangerous thing you can do in the US. As they say, if you want to know who is controlling you, watch for who you can't speak out against.

But not when it comes to activism, activinos do not see it in themselves. We deny it with all of our might. Maybe you knew what the English translation of the Greek for 'acting' is. I had no idea until a few years ago. Hypocrisy. Hypocrisy, in the Greek, means to 'act the part.' Now acting, can be a noble pursuit, right? Unless it is undisclosed acting, acting the part of a brain surgeon, for example. Then, it can be a murderous crime. Activinoism is such a murderous crime. Albert Schweitzer spoke what is probably my favorite quote of all time, 'example is not the major thing in influencing people. It is the only thing.' If activists show that we do not really need to pay a dear price for what we want, that mere 'acting' will suffice, well then, A. Those who are influenced by such activists will do no more then the same, and B. Do you really think that the onlookers, and the opposition, cannot tell the difference between an actor and the real thing? The activino(s) himself has strong motivation to deceive himself. But the onlooker, and the opposition, have ample motivation to see the truth, the hypocrisy, and by gum, they always do!!! They always do. This is the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Summer. Does anyone today think those folks were acting? It was even immensely difficult, near impossible, for the most evil opposition, or the most cowardly onlooker, to think that those folks were acting back then. Why? Because what an activist does, what a true activist always always always always does, is offer to pay, in unmistakable terms, an ungodly price, and sometimes, unflinchingly, unfailingly, willingly pay the price if it is demanded. Watch Freedom Riders. Watch Gandhi. Watch Iron Jawed Angels. Watch Malala. Watch Diane Wilson in the mini documentary Texas Gold on Hulu and YouTube ( where I pirated it and put it up years ago). Oh, and by the way, if you watch or deeply ponder any of those folks, ask yourself this question: yes, as true activists, they pay an ungodly price, but would they rather be acting? :-) . LOL. I lay awake ALL NIGHT LONG last night, my head spinning... !!!!!!!!!!.... it will enable me to resume what I've not done in 2 years now - a all day stake out of Capitol Hill where the congress folks walk by, within inches... to get to the capitol... with my solar panel, SOLAR PANEL... driving the laptop all day long - that visual at some level would be powerfully in-your-face to the deniers, and could be used by the good-folks in congress. Oh well, whatever the Creator wants. (((HUGS))) to you both.  And when congress is gone for summer break... I expect to continue - where the major tourist groups are... close to 7 days per week... all day... dawn to dark... this guy with the Jesus / Universal Family / Christlike / Jesus (huge black and white letters) sitting with his solar panel, working on laptop (and online if somehow the wifi funds materialize... 30-60/month).  PROOF OF A FUTURE, THE FUTURE... RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES... Lincoln Memorial... Capitol Hill, Washington Monument... Jefferson Memorial... White House.....   OMG.  (Hey, Creator, Father, please get off your butt and make this happen?)

I finally heard from Dell, $330 to replace the motherboard in my computer. To buy a comparable machine, refurbished, would be over $800 from Dell. (see link) Argh. So, if I can come up with $330, that's the responsible choice. From the time of receipt by Dell at their repair depot, last Wednesday, I have 5 days to tell them - that is tomorrow afternoon deadline. If any souls wish to contribute toward this repair fee, now would be a good time to let me know. ZERO EXPECTATIONS. I AM UNWILLING TO ACCEPT ANY FUNDS THAT WOULD 'HURT' THE DONOR. But if any can afford to contribute, and feel compelled to.... If I am able to replace the computer, that leaves one other item in my work that needs support - monthly wifi of between $30 and $60 per month. Anyone that feels compelled to support my work in this way.... (((HUGS))) no matter what (ZERO Expectations. Just sayin)

Nearly ALL the great souls

throughout history have seen that we had a choice - to return

to the profoundly egalitarian culture of pre-agriculture to live

in Love, Compassion, Harmony, SOLIDARITY... or we

could collectively and individually destroy ourselves by

living in ever more vicious competition, GREED (competition),

Elysianism, and of course, more fiercely every day we Elysians choose

Greed (denying to ourselves brilliantly and completely  that we are doing

any such thing).

 

As I've written recently, SOLIDARITY, Lived, 100% solidarity

of, by, for, and WITH the neediest is Loving, IS the ONLY True

Revolution that has ever been available to humanity to pull

out of it's orgy of needless suffering, meaninglessness, pain... and now

planet-wide extinction.  I continue to stumble blindly, poorly,

gratefully, JOYFULLY.. in that direction... 100% Lived Solidarity,

and away from the world you knew me in.

 

That will never affect one iota my Loving of you... nothing can.

But it is important for you to try and understand, and being as

amazingly smart as you are.. I think you do to an amazing degree.

 

I'm typing now from a computer in the Library of Congress.

It is not a bad hike from the shelter, tho it seems a bit long now seeing

as my hip seems to have dislocated 3 days ago. 

 

I don't know what I'll do regarding replacing the computer.  I had

the funds until yesterday when I mailed most of them to someone

I knew in high school (tho I can't remember her or nearly anyone... from HS)

who works her butt off, has had lots of hard knocks in life... and

is on the verge of losing her apt and truck that she uses in her

antiques, etc, business out of NJ.

 

I have ZERO support for my efforts, for my work... and it is for that

and that only that I could accept or use funds to replace it.  I am

way past the time of accepting resources for me - I've used up

a million times more than my share.  2 homeless guys (dozens

were horrified to see my laptop destroyed) independently offered

to replace it for me; and a pastor that ministers every Sat nite

at the shelter (a deeply Godly man) offered too.  I refused these

kind offers on the basis I said - I can accept nothing... only my

work - that has ZERO support or traction.

 

There is 1 year left on the warrant of that laptop.. but the damage

is near-certainly not covered by that warranty. Yesterday I sent it back

(wasted 10 days with FedEx fumbling the handoff of the depot

box) to Dell.  By week's end I should know the Creator's verdict.

I like the fellows here, 225 or so, as much or more than any group I've ever

been associated with.  These are the guys that unlike me who was born

2' from the Finish line, with armies of folks to get me over before anyone else...

they were born 100 miles behind the Finish line, with a lifelong gauntlet of abuse,

violence, hatred, bigotry, neglect, poverty, starvation.... that they've made it

through, unlike most.  They are tough guys with a 5 word vocabulary each - Mother F'r,

N*gger, and an unpredictable last 2 words to round it out... but they are sooo

real.  We aren't buddies, we don't chat, but I Love them, and I am constantly

amazed at the decency and basic respect they show me, an over privileged

white guy with tattoos on his face... with few exceptions.

I think this is profoundly well intended... and a deeply sad error, soon species-terminal error, of zero hope... from some of the only folks who could be hope to the future. I find no where in Life that a healthy, Godly, adaptive life-form every acts in a fundamentally 'symbolic' way. Of course, symbols are used and presented, but never as an end, by True Life.

I remember about 7 years ago, at a Catholic Worker house attending an evening with someone I saw as an immensely heroic, unimaginably courageous... elderly activist (his name escapes me).  I was deeply moved by his talk, but also concerned - 'symbolic action' was so central to what he was saying (I forget how many years or decades he had spent in prison), I couldn't believe I was understanding this aspect correctly.  So I asked him, afterward, 'Father, I mean, we, the forces of Light, are supposed to fight (unviolently) to 'win,' correct???'  He didn't miss a beat - "No,": was his unequivocal answer.  I think there are few True activists today that disagree with him in their hearts - I don't know how to understand their actions any other way, regardless of how self-sacrificial (paying the price) they may be.

I've done much study since then... Jesus fought to win.  We are supposed to be fighting, in Love, unviolently... to win.  Life fights to win - this is the Truth - it fights for the proliferation of ALL constructive Life and Life Forms.  IT DOES - THIS IS WHAT CREATION DOES.  Any and all deviation from this is Error, Sin, and now... DOOM, unless.... 

ps.  Life, adaptive, creative Life that fights for Life to Win... WILL PREVAIL IN THE END....  This is a fact.  The question is whether any but .00001% of all current species on earth, and the species homo sapiens... will be among the survivors... and the current Truth is, almost certainly not.  (To Linda LeTendre, thanks for the inspiration.)

Today I sent a small claim petition to the Denton County Justice of the Peace. T...he sole purpose of the petition is to trigger a conversation. My goal is to meet and talk, relying the petition content to guide a transparent discussion.

------------DG, for me it is only within the last two weeks that this understanding above has taken a quantum leap within me and lodged deep in my being (I hope.)  About 30 years ago, as you know better than I I suspect, some MIT professors(?) published, "Limits to Growth," and last year or so published an update confirming their findings that - we were (and at an accelerating rate continue) raping and plundering ourselves out of existence. They were showing us that on earth life had become a zero sum game - unless everyone lived according to their need, instead of to their greed (taking more than their global share), we were consuming ourselves QUICKLY, IMMINENTLY, out of existence.  AT LEAST the top 20% economically in the US (and other Developed countries now) are consuming at 10's to 1000's of times our share (as I did my first 50 years or so).  AT LEAST the top 20% economically, and possibly the top 60-80% (lower middle class and up).  Earth is headed, as you know, quickly, toward 10 billion people.  At the consumption of folks in India this can be sustained!  At the consumption of Americans... earth can only support 2 billion people - TOTAL (we're currently over 7 billion).  EVERYTHING... ANYONE... CONSUMES MORE THAN THEIR GLOBAL SHARE - IS STARVATION TO 5 TIMES AS MANY PEOPLE -  IT IS MURDER, and now, not just of we humans, and we destitute masses of the world... but to all of earthly Creation.
