At 6am this morning, members of Rising Tide Toronto successfully shut down construction for Enbridge's Line 9 pipeline in North Toronto. Five people, including two priests, locked down to equipment to prevent further work on this project. Approximately 40 workers were sent home for the day and activists continue to occupy the construction site.

So we were up early today! Folks have locked down to equipment on Enbridges construction site in North Toronto. Please support the people putting their bodies on the line at #lockdownline9 by contacting the National Energy Board right now. Tell them to reject Enbridge's #Line9 reversal proposal, and to respect First Nations and the Canadian constitution. Let them know that communities across Ontario are saying no to Enbridge's #Line9 reversal. Enbridge has stated that they will decommission this pipeline if its reversal is not approved. Tell the #NEB to say no to Line 9.

Email them at info@neb-one.gc.ca

please share and have a great day! “The National Energy Board has not approved the reversal of the Enbridge Line 9 pipeline. Amidst outstanding land claims and treaty violations all along the route, there has been no consultation with First Nations. This pipeline must be decommissioned and construction towards this project must stop.” – Amanda Lickers, Member of Six Nations of Grand River

“We are taking a stand today because this project will facilitate the expansion of the tar sands. Moreover, this reversal puts the millions of people along line 9 route at risk.” – Meghan Mills, Rising Tide Toronto

"The health of Aamjiwnaang is suffering from the effects from Canada's Chemical Valley as a result of Environmental Racism. We need to act now in defence of the land we depend on before Enbridge permanently destroys our territories. This is a human rights issue that effects future generations of all peoples.” – Vanessa Gray, Aamjiwnaang and Sarnia Against Pipelines .

BREAKING NEWS from Native Voices United Radio: 3 Women Hit By Fracker's Trucks, Injunction Extended, and Highway 11 Burns!

BREAKING NEWS from Native Voices United Radio:

3 Women Hit By SWN Trucks, Injunction Extended, and Highway 11 Burns!

DEC 2- Today along highway 11 things got rough. RCMP blocked off the road, arrests were made, there were reports of police dogs chasing people in the woods, and an SWN security vehicle hit 3 women. An ambulance was called and 2 women were sent to the hospital; meanwhile the RCMP did nothing.

In the court house, the Judge dismissed arguments made by Melissa Augustine of behalf of all Jane Does named in the injunction, as well as arguments of other defendants, calling them "opinions". SWN's injunction was thus extended until December 17. Protestors outside of the courthouse reacted by putting blue tape over their mouths and linking arms.

Footage emerges from the road of women being assaulted and arrested by RCMP. Soon after, highway 11 was set ablaze with flaming tires as protestors enacted their own permanent blockade. They now ask for support, people, and supplies. The burning tires have been called "smoke signals".

Cop cars are still reported accumulating. The Elsipogtog people & Mik'Maq warriors need support! Solidarity rallies, media coverage, funds and supplies to the blockade.
